By making all their print media MIR (Mobile Image Recognition) friendly Adidas are one of the latest companies to tap this fairly new technology. French housewares retailer Legallais deployed the technology to allow customers to take photos of any of the 40,000 items in its catalog and buy them immediately.

Down the line MIR will allow the consumer to take a snapshot of a handbag or a shoe fitted on a complete stranger and within seconds be ported to that specific retailers shop for immediate purchase or even direction to the closest store selling those items.

MIR will likely have a positive impact on the growth of mCommerce and make the entire experience even more seamless and agile. LTU Mobile are one of the partners bridging the gap between physical and digital and are supplying MIR technology to several companies.
